In FY 2016, ASU sustained its distinction as the fastest-growing research enterprise among universities with more than $100 million in research expenditures. This growth reflects funding for new and continuing research, including the first ASU-led NASA mission and the creation of ASU’s second National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center (ERC). ASU is now the only university in the country to lead two ERCs. Our research growth and success in securing competitive awards is fueled by our commitment to excellence. Even as we achieve year-over-year growth in research expenditures, we continue to earn recognition for the high caliber of our students and graduates, faculty and researchers, and our impact on the community. These achievements reflect our commitment to growing a research enterprise that educates master learners and enhances our local community, state, nation and world.
