NAU AWARDED $3.5 MILLION FOR ARCTIC RESEARCH

How will environmental changes affect our ecosystems? NAU researchers are working toward answers in their important environmental research taking place at Alaska’s Denali National Park. NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the Department of Energy jointly awarded $3.5 million to Ted Schuur and Michelle Mack of NAU’s Center for Ecosystem Science and Society to continue their work to analyze the impact that increased carbon in the atmosphere has on the Artic and how forest fire intensity impacts soil and permafrost.
