NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY

NAU’s work is increasingly recognized both nationally and internationally. The university is educating more students, securing more external funding resources, and hiring some of the most sought-after faculty and staff in the country. NAU continues to lead the state in graduating educators with graduate degrees, and remains the only university in Arizona accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NACATE).

NAU’s engineering program was ranked in the top 50 by U.S. News & World Report in its Best Colleges 2017 Edition.

NAU’s W. A. Franke College of Business was ranked in the top 10 “Best for Vets” business schools 2016 by the Military Times.

NAU’s nursing program was ranked 14th nationwide by Affordable Colleges Online.

NAU’s physical therapy program was ranked 40th nationwide by U.S. News in its Best Grad Schools 2017 Edition.

NAU was ranked in the top 10 nationally for graduating minority students by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. Diverse Issues also ranked NAU:

• #3 for master’s degrees in education for Native Americans.
• #6 for master’s degrees in English language and literature/letters for Hispanics.
• #7 for master’s degrees in all disciplines combined for Native Americans.
• #10 for bachelor’s degrees in communication disorders sciences and services for Hispanics.

While NAU, like most of its peer group, currently has no members of the National Academies of Science or Engineering on our faculty, the university is home to an increasing number of world-class faculty.
