Life sciences professor named one of world’s top 100 pathologists

Dr. Carolyn Compton of ASU’s School of Life Sciences was named to the 2015 Pathology Power List of the 100 most influential pathologists by the magazine The Pathologist. She earned the distinction for her hundreds of publications, the many leadership roles she holds and pioneering the field of biospecimen science. An independent panel of experts chose Compton from a list of 30,000 pathologists around the world.

Approximately 70 percent of all patient treatments are based on testing performed by pathologists. Compton’s work has significantly contributed to best practices for acquiring, transporting, stabilizing, processing and storing biospecimens to enhance patient care and research.
