NSF GRANT TO HELP NAU DEVELOP AND SHARE DRONE TECHNOLOGY

Wildlife biologists and ecologists are limited by the current technologies to track small animals – they are time intensive and yield relatively little data. But by harnessing drone technology, researchers will have the opportunity to gain unprecedented amounts of data, faster than ever before.

NAU researchers Carol Chambers, Paul Flikkema, and Michael Shafer received a $602,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle that will be used to track small wildlife.
