UA forging partnerships to cope with water scarcity

Addressing the nation’s growing water and energy crisis is no easy task. But a new, state-of-the-art facility will enable UA researchers to collaborate with public officials and business leaders to build the technologies and solutions that will ensure we can utilize our natural resources for decades to come.

UA opened its state-of-the-art Water & Energy Sustainable Technology (WEST) Center to advance new water treatment and reuse and alternative energy sustainability options for Arizona. Working with industry and governments, WEST has already forged research and development partnerships with Dow Chemical and SC Johnson Corporation, among others. Dow Chemical recently showcased their commitment to sustainable fuels - and highlighted their WEST partnership - by unveiling a “sustainability” NASCAR car at the facility prior to a Phoenix race.
