UA is a leader in
cancer research

The University of Arizona is gaining critical ground in the fight against cancer. In addition to population-based research, the UA Cancer Center provides cancer patients in Arizona (and across the Southwest) access to the most cutting-edge cancer treatments available.

The National Cancer Institute renewed the designation of Comprehensive Cancer Center to the University of Arizona – one of only 45 in the nation – by awarding a five-year, $17.6 million Cancer Center Support Grant, based on the strength, depth and breadth of basic laboratory, clinical, prevention, control and population-based research.
