The University of Arizona has a strong reputation for building innovative buildings that do dual duty through low environmental impacts and maximized function. The new Environment and Natural Resources Building 2 (ENRB2) is perhaps the pinnacle of achievement in terms of space that invites interdisciplinary collaboration for the people working inside, while also encouraging the health of the outside environment – making it all the more fitting that a hummingbird family took up residence at ENRB2 soon after its completion.
The ENRB2, the greenest research building, and largest in Arizona with LEED Platinum status, opened. ENR2 houses UA’s Institute of the Environment, Institute for Energy Solutions and several environmentally-focused departments and includes a number of cutting-edge sustainability features.
