NAU Institute works with Tribes on climate change adaptation planning

Native tribes face disproportionate risks to their communities due to climate change. Unique cultures and economies leave them vulnerable, making the need for strategic planning to adapt to climate change all the more important for tribal communities.

NAU’s Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals was awarded a $1 million grant by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to develop and offer climate change adaptation planning workshops, online resources, and tools and technical assistance to Native American tribes throughout the United States.
