CHILD WELFARE
TRAINING PROJECT

Tasked with ensuring the well-being of children throughout the state, those working at the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) have some of the most challenging and important jobs in our state. Through a unique program, social work students are able to complete their studies with less out-of-pocket tuition while DCS is able to count on a pool of competent and effective child welfare specialists to staff the agency.

Natalie Cawood of NAU received a $5 million contract from the DCS to establish a tuition-for-work pipeline of state employees who will work for one to two years for Child Protective Services upon graduation.
