“Built to last” Infrastructure

To help researchers realize their research goals and to enable and support the growth of our R&D enterprises, the University of Arizona has established the following infrastructure:

Research Development Services (RDS) to help UA researchers and scholars identify funding opportunities, form effective teams, aid in successful grant writing techniques, and help craft winning proposals. Additionally, RDS collects and disseminates information on funding opportunities and the funding landscape.

New internal funding programs to jump-start and support early-career, mid-scale interdisciplinary, and large team science “grand challenge” projects, to spur industry collaborations, to expand student training for the modern work environment, and to enhance our high precision and through-put equipment.

Regular training programs for researchers have been initiated at all levels to help with managing awards and contracts, understanding and navigating regulatory requirements and, ultimately, conducting world-class research.

Deep investment in university-wide core research facilities that provide access to high precision and specialized instrumentation, equipment, and cutting-edge technology, coupled with a reorganization of expert services, training and consultation to enable discovery and sustainable operations.
